The hotel is located in the city centre of Barcelona above the Sants metro station. This is a location most suitable for business travelers visiting the city for trade fairs (fira de Barcelona is only a quarter of a mile from the hotel) and congresses. While the hotel is clearly not on the Ramblas which is just under 2 miles away, it has excellent transport connections to the Ramblas area, Gothic Quarter and the Plaza Catalunya.

The Barcelo Sants Hotel is housed in a huge modern 7-storey property, which was built above Sants railway station just in time for the 1992 Olympics. The impressive smoked glass façade is visible from some distance away. The large, open plan lobby is decorated with chandeliers, ample comfortable chairs and sofas for meeting friends or business associates. Above the lobby is a mezzanine level where the hotel bar, restaurant and exhibition space are located. The 370 guestrooms are decorated in a modern style with neutral colours and wood furniture. They are clean and well maintained, as are the tiled en suite bathrooms. Dining options include "El Bistrot del Sants" à la carte restaurant and "La Cantina de l’Estació" Mediterranean buffet. For guests who enjoy being active, there’s also a fitness centre and treatment room for massage.
